Miriam Slater | Emerging Artist-in-Residence, Cross Sector Engagement

Miriam (they/them) is a Canberra based Queer interdisciplinary artist who works primarily with theatre, comedy and live art.  With an Honours in Visual Arts from the Australian National University, their work is often concerned with Queer identity, representation and community. They have won numerous Fringe Awards with their comedy duo Sweaty Pits, as well as Little Dove Theatre Art’s 2019 performance of Evangeline. They have performed and directed nationally and internationally, most recently working with Brisbane’s physical theatre company Zen Zen Zo. Their current practice aims to explore identity and performance activism through combining digital media and live performance art.
