As we wrap up the Creative Recovery and Resilience Forum, we wanted a space for open conversation, dialogue, knowledge exchange and sharing practices. Seat at the Table gave 40 artists the opportunity to participate in a facilitated conversation about challenges, strategies, connections and support for the sector.
The activity was skillfully facilitated by the team at You Are Here: Ketura Budd, Nick Delatovic, Tom Campbell and Zora Pang, who took care to establish a safe space for all to converse, confess, have different view points, and openly discuss.
Don Christopher, artsACT’s Assistant Director for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts, offered an Acknowledgement of Country to begin, and led us in a song in Ngunnawal language to get us moving afterwards.
Each artist, selected for their engagement with one of the Creative Recovery and Resilience Program projects, was personally invited and offered an honorarium to reflect their expertise and work in this knowledge exchange.
You can read more about Seat at the Table in a review published by participating artist and critic for Canberra Critics Circle Frank McKone.
